Joker Wild follows conventional poker rules concerning how hands are formed, with one exception: A joker is added that is "wild," which means that it is counted as the most favorable card. For example the joker can be used to complete a straight or a flush, three of a kind or four of a kind.

A five of a kind includes four cards of the same suite with a joker included to add to the suite. A royal straight flush uses a joker to complete the royal straight flush and a natural royal flush does not use the joker but goes about using its natural suit of cards.
